class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>Every individual is assessed with a standardised educational assessment tool which assesses their skills in personal, social, academic, occupational and recreational areas. We also use the MDPS checklist where the child\u2019s skills in different areas like gross motor &amp; fine motor, meal time activities, dressing, grooming, toileting, receptive language, expressive language, social interaction, reading, writing, numbers, time, money, domestic activities, community orientation, recreation &amp; leisure time activities, and vocational areas are assessed.<\/p><p>After the assessment, the areas where a child is yet to develop are identified and a multi-disciplinary team brainstorms the prioritisation of goals with proper justification and age-appropriateness of the child. After setting the goals, a meeting with the parents is arranged to discuss the current level of performance of the child and annual goals are identified. Each long-term goal comprises of three parts, where each is taken up as a short-term goal for three months. A periodical evaluation of the goals is conducted every three months to check the progress of the child. Implementation of this program with individual sessions and group teaching enhances the skill. A collaborative framework, involving all stakeholders, leads to the child\u2019s progress.<\/p><\/div><\/div><h5 class=\"vc_custom_heading vc_custom_1629889645918\">CLASS-WISE DESCRIPTION:<\/h5><div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><ul class=\"list_of_origin\"><li><ul class=\"list_of_origin\"><li><div><strong>Pre-primary:<\/strong><\/div><div>Age Group: 3-6 years<\/div><div>Early intervention is provided in both one on one and group sessions, which are done on a daily basis.<\/div><\/li><li><div><strong>Primary 1 A and B:<\/strong><\/div><div>Age Group: 7-14 years<\/div><div>Interventions are conducted in group sessions, and Individualized Education Programme (IEP) is provided for each child where their progress is monitored regularly.<\/div><\/li><li><div><strong>Secondary:<\/strong><\/div><div>Age Group: 9-14 years<\/div><div>IEP intervention is provided along with group teaching sessions.<\/div><\/li><li><div><strong>Pre-vocational:<\/strong><\/div><div>Age Group: 15-18 years<\/div><div>Children are trained in developing the necessary skills that are required for them to earn a living and become independent.<\/div><\/li><li><div><strong>Vocational:<\/strong><\/div><div>Age Group: 18 years and above<\/div><div>The individuals are trained in developing products like paper covers, candles, paper flowers and flower bouquets, files, and diya decoration that are then sold, forming a basis of revenue for them.<\/div><\/li><li><div><strong>Autism:<\/strong><\/div><div>Age Group: 9-14 years<\/div><div>The students are provided one-on-one interventions based on the IEP plan, along with sensory therapy that helps them develop holistically.<\/div><\/li><li><div><strong>Physiotherapy:<\/strong><\/div><div>We have a physiotherapist, who takes regular sessions. Every child gets intervention everyday based on the severity to support the children with their gross &amp; fine motor skills as well as other orthopedic problems. The physiotherapist works in the following areas:<\/div><ul><li>Assessment of fine motor and gross motor skills.<\/li><li>Assessment of the child\u2019s physical functioning skills.<\/li><li>Setting targets for identified issues.<\/li><li>Review meetings with a multidisciplinary team along with parents.<\/li><li>Follow up strategies and activities for parents. They are also equipped with training their wards at home.<\/li><li>Documentation of information to graph the child\u2019s progress.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><div><strong>Speech Therapy:<\/strong><\/div><div><p>The speech and language therapy unit provide supports as outlined in each child\u2019s Individualized Education Program (IEP). This includes:<\/p><ul><li>Assessment of every child\u2019s language and communication skills.<\/li><li>Assessment of eating, drinking and swallowing skills, and provision of mealtime guidelines.<\/li><li>Setting targets for identified goals.<\/li><li>Directly working with students in group and individual settings.<\/li><li>Follow up strategies and activities for the teaching staff.<\/li><li>Working with classroom teaching staff and senior members of the team to create an optimal communication environment.<\/li><li>Evaluating the progress of the child at regular intervals.<\/li><li>Collaborating with relevant professionals (Special Educators &amp; Physiotherapists).<\/li><li>Providing training to the communication partners in relevant strategies and approaches.<\/li><li>Review meetings with a multidisciplinary team along with parents.<\/li><li>Involving parents to train their wards at home.<\/li><li>Documentation of information to graph the child\u2019s progress.<\/li><\/ul><\/div><ul class=\"list_of_origin\"><li><strong>Assembly Presentations<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Assembly time is a much anticipated time for every student as they get the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of the whole school. These activities aim at removing stage fear among the students and also boost their confidence. After performing the daily prayer together, children sing the National Anthem followed by warm up exercises to improve flexibility and mobility in order to keep them active throughout the day.<\/li><li><strong>Recreational Activities<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Students go on picnics along with their classmates to different places, away from the school atmosphere. Here they play various structured games and participate in different events planned by their teachers. These picnics recharge students to ease into their daily routines.
